International Yoga Day, June 21, 2025
The little ones of Classes 1 and 2 celebrated International Yoga Day with joy and excitement. They practiced simple asanas and breathing exercises, learning how yoga helps keep the body strong and the mind calm. The students also learned about the importance of yoga and how it can be a fun part of their daily routine. It was a delightful session that encouraged healthy habits and mindfulness from a young age.
Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam Memorial Day – July 27, 2025
In loving memory of our Missile Man, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, our tiny tots from LKG and UKG joyfully coloured vibrant rockets, dreaming big just like him. Their little hands painted big dreams, reminding us that today’s children are tomorrow’s scientists. Students of Classes 1 and 2 added to the celebration by creating imaginative paper rockets, showcasing their creativity and enthusiasm. The event was a delightful tribute, inspiring young minds to aim high and dream big.
Mahakavi Day, September 11, 2025
Mahakavi Day was celebrated with great pride. Students dressed up as Bharathiyar and showcased their talents through soulful songs, graceful dances, and powerful recitations of his kavithai, making the day truly special and memorable.
Free Montessori Training, October 29, 2025

This initiative offers a valuable opportunity for professional development and collaborative growth, benefiting aspiring Montessori teachers from Arpakkam village and beyond. Through engaging discussions and hands-on activities, participants are experiencing a transformative learning journey that is both enriching and impactful.

Educating with AI:
Artificial intelligence (AI) is emerging as one of the most transformative technologies of the 21st century, with profound implications for every sector. including education. Akshaya Vidyalaya, in collaboration with the Learning Matters team, an AI-based learning platform, has implemented Tara, an AI-powered tool to enhance English language development.
Montessori Philosophy says, ‘Children learn best through experience and exploration’. Tara is a progressive step, where the students can interact with an AI-powered virtual voice teacher that helps in improving English fluency and pronunciation. Tara guides them with real-time feedback. Students practise English by simply speaking to a device – a smart speaker (with no screen involvement). The voice commands provide greater independence and more personalised experiences for the children. With Tara, a student can learn at his/her own pace. They can repeat or rewind the same portion any number of times until they understand completely. It analyzes pronunciation, offering instant feedback to help students refine their speaking skills. It transforms learning from a mundane activity to an interesting one and makes learning fun.
PKS Day Celebrations, December 22, 2025
The birthday of the renowned mathematician P. K. Srinivasan was celebrated in our school with great enthusiasm. The occasion was made special by the presence of his daughter, Mrs. Nirmala Raman, who graced the event and conducted interactive learning activities for students of Classes I and II. Through her engaging session, Class I students learned the concept of part and whole, while Class II students explored even and odd numbers in a fun and meaningful way. The activities sparked the children’s curiosity and made learning mathematics an enjoyable experience.
CUBS AND BULLS INAUGURATION, February 9, 2026
Our school marked a significant milestone with the grand inauguration of the Cubs and Bulbul Scout Team, introduced to nurture discipline, teamwork, and leadership among students. This initiative highlights our commitment not only to academic excellence but also to character building and leadership development. The Cubs and Bulbul Scout Team has been launched under the able leadership of Mr. Athikesavan, who has taken on the responsibility of guiding and leading this initiative. With his strong vision and leadership, the students are ready to build confidence, develop life skills, and understand the importance of unity and service. This helps the school to shape students into responsible individuals and future leaders. The inauguration ceremony was made even more special by the gracious presence of our esteemed guest, Mr. Singaram, who officially inaugurated the event. His encouragement and support added great value to the occasion and inspired everyone present. The event concluded on a joyful note, leaving students and staff motivated and excited about the journey ahead.
National Science Event: Showcasing Young Minds, February 27, 2026
Akshaya Vidyalaya organized a Science Event on National Science Day, providing a wonderful platform for young learners to explore and express themselves. Students from Grades 1 and 2 actively participated in the event, making it a vibrant and engaging experience. The highlight of the program was the way our young students articulated concepts learned, through simple yet innovative ideas. Using basic materials such as paper, coins, and other easily available items, they did small experiments. These activities reflected their curiosity, imagination, and eagerness to learn. The event boosted students’ confidence to talk in front of parents and teachers, and also helped in developing an interest in science at an early age. It also encouraged teamwork and collaboration among students, helping them learn from one another. Such initiatives play a vital role in nurturing confidence and a lifelong love for learning.
OBSERVATION DAY 2, April 11, 2026
The second Observation Day for the remaining environments- Mandaram, Kurinji, and Pavazhamalli was conducted successfully on April 11th, 2026, offering parents a meaningful glimpse into their child’s learning journey within the Montessori environment. Each environment was given a dedicated one-hour time slot. This organized sequence allowed parents to clearly understand the functioning of each environment. The session began with parents observing their children in the classroom. Children were seen freely choosing activities, working with materials independently, completing tasks with focus, and returning them to their designated places. This beautifully reflected their sense of responsibility, independence, and engagement within the prepared environment. The observation was structured across three environments: Mandarai, Kurinji, and Pavazhamalli
During the sessions, detailed explanations were provided on how various Montessori activities contribute to a child’s development. Special emphasis was placed on how learning occurs through the five senses: sight, hearing, touch, smell, and taste, and how these sensorial experiences enhance concentration, coordination, and overall understanding.
Following the classroom observations, all parents gathered in the Smart Room for an interactive session. During this session, a detailed explanation was provided on how children learn through Montessori materials, the purpose behind each activity, and the various benefits gained through this method of learning. Parents were able to understand not only what their child was learning, but also how and why they learn in this unique way. The Observation Day was a great success, leaving parents impressed and reassured as they witnessed firsthand, their children’s independence, confidence, and joyful learning process.
EXPOSITION: Student Exposition – A Celebration of Knowledge and Creativity, April 21 & 22, 2026
The students of First and Second standards presented an engaging and thoughtfully curated exposition, showcasing their learning across Tamil, English, Mathematics, and Environmental Studies. Each student participated individually, presenting concepts with confidence and creativity, reflecting their understanding of the academic year’s learning.
In Tamil, students demonstrated their knowledge of language concepts such as edhugai monai (rhyming patterns) and prepositions, presenting them in a clear and expressive manner.
In Environmental Studies, they explored fundamental concepts such as living and non-living things, explaining them with relatable examples. They also presented parts of a plant, such as roots, leaves, flowers, and fruits, illustrating how plants grow and develop. Additionally, topics such as water plants and seasonal understanding, including suitable activities for summer, were explained effectively. Mathematics presentations included the four basic operations: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, where students confidently explained methods and solved examples. They also demonstrated their understanding of time by explaining how to read a clock.
In English, students covered key language areas such as nouns and verbs, along with topics like animals, colours, and opposites. Their presentations reflected clarity in communication and a growing command of the language. The exposition was a vibrant display of independent learning, creativity, and conceptual understanding. It highlighted not only the students’ academic progress but also their ability to present ideas with confidence and enthusiasm, making the event both informative and inspiring.
